Occupational Hygiene
“Recognition, evaluation and control of hazards”
Employees at work can be exposed to a wide variety of hazardous substances which can cause ill health when inhaled. Workplace monitoring surveys are designed to help employers fulfil their obligations under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health 2002 (as amended). In addition, the measurement of airborne contaminants will assess personal workplace exposure and verify the effectiveness of the control measures.
Cottam Parkinson Consulting can test for a wide range of hazardous substances and sampling techniques are carried out in accordance with MDHS (Methods for the Determination of Hazardous Substances) and other recognised methods including NIOSH and OSHA. Both long (8 hour) and short term (15 minutes) monitoring is undertaken depending on the Workplace Exposure Limit (WEL) of the hazardous substances. Cottam Parkinson Consulting will undertake a detailed survey of air quality in the workplace including testing and observations. In addition, we will provide you with a clear and concise interpretation of the results, recommendations and solutions.
